Mediterranean-Style Siena On The Rise

Construction is underway for Siena, the second luxury residential tower developed by Watermark Communities Inc. (WCI) in Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club. Siena follows on the heels of WCI's first tower, Verona, recently completed in May 2000.

"Prior to vertical construction of Siena's lobby level, 324 production pilings were installed after the test pilings process," said Paul Drummond, WCI's senior project manager for the tower. "Test pilings are load tested to determine the ultimate number of pilings for the building, and to confirm the performance criteria from the engineer, in addition to soil conditions of the job site. These are the first necessary steps to be taken."

Built by award-winning Coastal Construction Company on a site overlooking the community's sparkling Lago Di Verona, Siena, slated for completion in late 2001, will offer captivating views of the Atlantic Ocean, Deering Bay's acclaimed emerald green fairways and protected mangroves.
