BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 23, 2000
Attachmate Corporation, a leading provider of web-to-host access solutions and customized e-business solutions and a Siebel Strategic Software Partner, announced today that its e-Vantage(R) Enterprise Access Objects product has successfully passed the Siebel Validation Program and is Siebel 2000 Approved.
Among the first Siebel partners to become 2000 Validated, Attachmate was the first to create a Siebel integration taking advantage of the many new features of Siebel EAI 2000.
"The success of back-office integration solutions is delivering applications that ultimately allow organizations to increase customer service," said Bruce Cleveland, vice president of Alliances at Siebel Systems. "Attachmate's e-Vantage products will accelerate access to valuable back-office information so employees can better serve the customer across the enterprise."
To optimize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems, organizations are recognizing the need to integrate data from existing host applications into front office e-Business applications. Attachmate(R) e-Vantage Enterprise Access Objects easily and rapidly integrate real-time information from legacy sources into new custom applications, or packaged e-Business applications from leading e-Business application providers such as Siebel Systems.
The e-Vantage Enterprise Access Objects Advantage
Optimal customer relationship management hinges upon real-time access to the most current information. That information is often stored in back-end legacy systems, and a full range of front-office e-Business applications may be customized to interact with those systems. e-Vantage Enterprise Access Objects serve as object-oriented conduits that support all major direct and LAN connections, including SNA, TCP/IP, Telnet, and other protocols.
Using Attachmate's e-Vantage Enterprise Access Objects, end users can transparently access information from the legacy systems in real-time, eliminating the problems inherent to working with outdated information. Virtually any type of legacy application and platform is accessible with e-Vantage Enterprise Access Objects, giving users real-time, easy access to data residing on mainframes, midrange systems, and AS/400(R) hosts.
The Technology
Attachmate e-Vantage Enterprise Access Objects is comprised of a set of client-based COM objects and ActiveX(R) controls that establish direct, two-way, real-time connections with mainframe, midrange, and AS/400 enterprise host systems. When called through industry-standard, COM-compliant development languages, the objects connect directly to host systems, navigate through host application screens, and transmit data transparently between Siebel eBusiness Applications and enterprise host applications.
Rapid Deployment and Security
Attachmate e-Vantage Enterprise Access Objects is designed for quick and easy deployment, minimizing downtime during installation. Comprehensive online documentation and sample applications are included to further accelerate this process. To ensure the security of sensitive data transmitted between the host and e-Business application, built-in support for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is included and can be activated if desired.
Siebel Validation Program
The Siebel Validation Program evaluates and documents third-party solutions integrated with Siebel eBusiness Applications. Integrated solutions undergo rigorous technical scrutiny. By choosing validated partner solutions, Siebel customers can leverage the best software and technology available today for e-Business.
