SAN DIEGO--(BW HealthWire)--Oct. 24, 2000
Laser Diagnostic Technologies (LDT) Tuesday announced that John Moore has joined the company as president and CEO.
Moore, who has worked in the eye care marketplace for nearly 20 years, has significant experience in a wide range of corporate management including marketing, sales, business development, operations and research and development.
"The addition of John Moore to LDT represents a key step that moves the company to the next level," explained Andreas Dreher, Ph.D., company founder and previous president and CEO.
"His knowledge and success in both private and public companies and his well-earned respect throughout the industry will help propel LDT into the position as a leading global provider of glaucoma detection and tracking technology and innovator in scanning laser technologies," said Dreher, developer of the company's breakthrough glaucoma technology, GDx Access.
Deloitte & Touche recently named LDT a San Diego/Orange County Technology Fast 50 finalist for its remarkable 262% growth in revenue in the past five years. Moore will provide leadership for LDT, which is evolving its business from a highly successful capital equipment model to a fee-per-test business that generates a recurring revenue stream.
Prior to joining LDT, Moore was a vice president in research and development at Alcon Inc., a leading ophthalmic company. He also previously served as president/CEO of Humphrey Instruments, a leading ophthalmic instrumentation company, for eight years and was vice president and general manager of the microsurgical division of Carl Zeiss, the largest optics company in the world. His past experience also includes eight years as group vice president of Coherent Medical, an ophthalmic laser company.
Laser Diagnostic Technologies, a venture-funded medical device company based in San Diego, currently specializes in developing, marketing and selling innovative diagnostic products for eye care and currently offers the GDx(R) Nerve Fiber Analyzer and the GDx Access(TM).
