PURCHASE, N.Y. & ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 2000
NetVendor(TM), the leading provider of Internet software and services for collaborative business-to-business (B2B) supplier enablement, and Interliant, Inc. (Nasdaq:INIT), a leading global application service provider (ASP), today announced an agreement that allows NetVendor to offer its customers a hosting option via Interliant's INIT ASP Host solutions and services. The relationship extends NetVendor's capability to deploy applications of its flagship sell-side e-commerce solution, E.MBRACE.
"As part of our B2B supplier enablement strategy, NetVendor was the first to provide an end-to-end continuum of functionality for manufacturers producing direct materials," said Sean McCloskey, president and CEO, NetVendor. "Through this relationship with Interliant, NetVendor will further a supplier's options for deploying a feature-rich web site for their customers."
NetVendor provides the functionality to manage and optimize the relationships of direct material suppliers, including the relationships between industrial suppliers and OEMs. Its E.MBRACE solution has a suite of capabilities that Internet-enable traditional activities for manufacturers - enabling these suppliers to engage, design, contract, transact, fulfill and service their customers.
According to the analyst firm Dataquest (The State of Today's Application Service Provider Marketplace, July 2000), manufacturing is one of the top two verticals moving toward the ASP model in the short term. The report predicts that, by 2004, manufacturing companies will account for more than $4.8 billion, or 19 percent, of the total worldwide ASP market, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 106 percent.
NetVendor's relationship with Interliant reflects the companies' shared commitment to delivering robust customer-facing e-Business solutions for manufacturers in the general industrial, automotive and electronics markets, according to McCloskey.
"As NetVendor expands its offerings to include an ASP delivery model, Interliant will lead and support NetVendor's commitment to deliver the best integrated solutions across platforms and extend the company's presence into the vertical industries it serves," said Herb Hribar, president and CEO of Interliant. "This relationship underscores Interliant's ability to `e-enable' traditional independent software vendors to exploit new e-Business opportunities by harnessing the breadth and depth of our ASP solution."
