PeopleSoft 8 Pure Internet Applications Ship on IBM's DB2 Universal Database

PeopleSoft Inc. (Nasdaq:PSFT) today announced that PeopleSoft 8 pure internet applications began shipping on IBM's DB2 Universal Database on September 29.
The pure internet eBusiness solution delivers enhanced performance, scalability, reliability and customer care at a lower cost of ownership. The solution is available on a variety of platforms, including Windows 2000 and NT, AIX and OS/390, Linux, HP-UX, and Sun Solaris.
"PeopleSoft eBusiness applications on DB2 will provide customers with the ability to deploy a single e-business platform configuration of proven technology on their choice of the leading server operating environments," said Carl Olofson, program director, Application Development and Deployment Software, from IDC. "The companies' joint development efforts and their e-business consulting expertise will offer comprehensive, flexible solutions to joint customers."
PeopleSoft 8 became generally available on September 1 of this year, marking the largest technological advance in enterprise software in more than a decade. PeopleSoft 8 is pure internet eBusiness software with no code on the client. It includes Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, and Financials applications.
