ASPCache 1.0

ASPCache is a high-performance collection component designed to make it easy to cache information in Active Server Pages. As a collection component, ASPCache performs about 17 times faster than the ASP Application object. ASPCache supports:

-- Adding, updating, retrieving, and removing cached items

-- Flushing of items that have not been used in a while

-- Setting item lifetimes

-- Page fragment caching

The page fragment caching capability is designed for use with APGen, where APGen is used to generate page fragments, and ASPCache is used to cache page fragments and write them to the ASP HTTP stream.

ASPCache 1.0 will be included with APGen 2.0, and will also be sold separately for $99 USD. To read more about ASPCache 1.0 visit http://www.webgecko.com/products/aspcache/default.htm.

Site Server Commerce Edition White Paper and Example Sites

WebGecko will publish a white paper and two example e-commerce sites demonstrating how to use APGen 2.0 and Microsoft Site Server Commerce Edition 3.0 to implement high-performance, robust e-commerce sites. The white paper and sites will help customers gracefully handle heavy traffic from Christmas shoppers.

The white paper High-Performance Commerce Sites with SSCE and Active Page Generator and accompanying example sites will be published by Oct. 22, 2000. The sites are based on Microsoft's Volcano Coffee Turbo example site.

Though the white paper and example sites are not yet publicly available, the performance improvements are located at http://www.webgecko.com/products/apgen/vcapgen.htm. Please send mailto:sales@webgecko.com if you need more information on Commerce Server optimization before this white paper is published.
