DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 5, 2000

CompUSA Inc., America's Largest Computer Superstore(R) retailer, today announced the launch of a new web-based training service, called Power2Learn Online Training.

The Power2Learn Online Training card is a prepaid learning product that provides end-users with online access to software training on today's most popular software applications such as Microsoft Office 2000, Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS), Office 97 and Palm Handheld Organizer. Power2Learn also features soft skill programs like business writing, presentation skills, and time management. Content provided on Power2Learn is the "How to Master" series authored by InfoSource.

Power2Learn Online Training service is designed to aid busy professionals who want to enhance their computer skills but do not have time to attend a full day of classes. The Online Training service is available with unlimited access in 1 month, 3 month, and 6 month increments. Users can take advantage of three modes of learning. Through interactive instruction, users are prompted to do various tasks. The slide show learning module allows users to learn through watching a slide presentation. With the practice mode, users are placed in an interactive environment that allows them to practice and perform various tasks. A unique feature of Power2Learn includes the task oriented learning track that lets the user choose various tasks they wish to learn on a specific title and train only on those tasks. Other Power2Learn learning tracks encompass levels 1-2-3, a progressive learning system through a particular title, as well as the ability for a user to train specifically on gearing up for the MOUS certification test on a certain title.

"With this convenient access to software training, CompUSA can provide an excellent service to the business customer, either in a busy office environment, or in a home-based office. We are excited about the flexibility that Power2Learn Online Training offers our customers.," said Tony A. Weiss, CompUSA executive vice president of business solutions.
