ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 6, 2000

First New York Hospital To Adopt Wireless Connectivity Solution

WirelessMD(TM), Inc., the premiere wireless connectivity solution provider for the medical community, today announced an agreement with Southside Hospital.

Under the terms of the agreement, WirelessMD will integrate its medical data retrieval system with Southside's healthcare information technology (HIT) systems to provide medical professionals with remote access to medical information.

"We are very pleased to provide Southside Hospital with our award winning wireless clinical connectivity solution," stated Gary Coltek, chief executive officer of WirelessMD, Inc. "Using our system, physicians can increase their efficiency and streamline their workflow by automating delivery of patient care. Additionally, we believe this agreement demonstrates our ability to meet the evolving communication and technical needs of today's physician while helping to enrich the patient experience."

The multi-functional WirelessMD system automates critical aspects of patient care by interfacing with existing healthcare information systems to facilitate access to healthcare information including clinical laboratory results, patient demographics, histories and updates, and potential adverse drug interactions notices as well as the ability to execute electronic prescriptions in a secure mobile environment. WirelessMD enables physicians to make clinical decisions quickly to increase efficiency and optimize patient care.

Connectivity will be established later this year, at which time, Southside's physicians will be able to retrieve critical healthcare information from the hospital's HIT system in a secure manner from anywhere, anytime.
