ExecCard Teams with Georgetown MBA for Record Year

PINEHURST, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 1, 2000

Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business has successfully marketed their nationally ranked MBA Program using an interactive business card CD-ROM and custom mailer developed by ExecCard, Inc.

Georgetown recently reported the best admissions and placement results in the history of the MBA Program.

Associate Dean and Director of Graduate Business Programs at Georgetown MBA, Larry Abeln, a critical player in the school's decision to use the ExecCard for this program stated, "Georgetown MBA was the first business school to use the new technology of the ExecCard in the marketing of its Program. This use of multimedia presented an opportunity for us as an institution to better project some of our unique characteristics of the Georgetown MBA experience and culture. The distribution of the card to the potential candidates had a very positive impact on our applications."

The New York Times recently reported that schools such as Duke, Cornell, Harvard, NYU, and Northwestern among others have had declines in applicants for the Fall MBA class. According to Abeln, "Georgetown MBA received 2,875 applications for admission (a 50% increase over the 1,923 applicants received in 1999), and that our admit rate improved to 19% versus 34% last year." Based on these successes, the University has already decided to distribute an ExecCard to next year's candidates for the School of Business ( www.msb.edu ) and the School of Nursing ( www.dml.georgetown.edu/schnurs/ ).

ExecCard CEO, Jeff Kschinka, noted, "The success of this new media implementation with Georgetown supports our effort to provide the educational market with an innovative communications tool. We expect similar results this coming year from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University and the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine who are also marketing their Programs with our ExecCard. Similar success stories are also emerging from our clients in other targeted industries, including: pharmaceuticals, medical, financial services, retail sales, automotive, and information technology."

When asked about the advantages of ExecCard, Kschinka commented, "An ExecCard has the ability to deliver a high impact visual message combined with measurable results, including proprietary systems we are developing to track each time a user views the presentation, clicks on an html link, or responds by email. Our team can customize a solution for any business with marketing and communications needs, and usually we find a way to save them money on printing, postage, resources, and inventory."
