HOLLYWOOD--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Sept. 1, 2000

An All-New Holiday Collection for Children,

Including the Most Popular Christmas Song of All Time

In Stores Nationwide, Oct. 3

Capitol Records will release Nat King Cole's "Christmas For Kids -- From One To Ninety-Two," a new compilation of holiday songs for children (of any age), including the No. 1-selling holiday recording of all time, "The Christmas Song," available in stores nationwide, Oct. 3.

As one of the world's leading recording artists, Cole has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, with more than 150 singles charting on the pop, R&B and country charts from 1943 until his death at 45 in 1965. His timeless music, including such No. 1 hits as "Nature Boy," "Mona Lisa" and "Too Young," has entertained audiences for generations.

This collectible CD features many of the beloved Christmas songs the legendary entertainer sang to his own children, Carole, Kelly, twins Timolin and Casey and renowned recording artist, Natalie Cole.

"Christmas For Kids -- From One to Ninety-Two" also includes an exclusive collector's booklet of original illustrations by noted artist Mark Ulriksen (whose work has appeared in the New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly, Newsweek, Playboy and Time).

In addition, the booklet features an enchanting children's story, by daughter Carole, that tells the tale of Mystery, a talking dog, who dreams of holding the endless spirit of Christmas in his heart. This fictional tale, intertwined with personal reminiscences from Carole's childhood, is a heartwarming tribute to her father and the Christmas songs he loved.

A portion of the proceeds from CD sales will benefit the Children's Defense Fund, a private, non-profit organization which promotes the rights of all the children of America who cannot vote, lobby or speak for themselves.

The Washington D.C.-based group pays particular attention to the needs of poor and minority children and those with disabilities. Its mission is to leave no child behind and to ensure every child a healthy start, a head start, a fair start, a safe start and a moral start in life.

Other Cole CDs, available exclusively on Capitol Records, include "The Christmas Song," "Nat King Cole Greatest Hits," "Spotlight On Nat King Cole" and "Unforgettable Nat King Cole."
