--(BUSINESS WIRE)
What: Corporate IT professionals understand a high-performance directory is needed to manage network access, security and a myriad of other network and computing chores. Two commonly cited enterprise directories are Microsoft's Active Directory Services (ADS) and Novell Directory Services (NDS). But how do the two products differ in handling the key functions that a directory service must perform today? How will they evolve to serve new roles and requirements in the future? How are ADS and NDS built to serve the needs of your enterprise, and what tools and services do the vendors offer to ease the implementation of the flagship directories?
Listen to insightful perspectives and get answers to your NDS and ADS questions during the upcoming Networked World webcast: "Active Directory vs. Novell Directory Services." John Gallant, editorial director and executive vice president of Network World; Peter Houston, group program manager for Active Directory at Microsoft; and Ed Anderson, director of product management and product marketing at Novell will explore key challenges customers face in implementing directory services and share how these respective companies are helping customers meet those challenges.
Houston brings 16 years of software industry expertise to this forum. At Microsoft, he specializes in distributed systems. Prior to his role at Active Directory, he served at IBM/Transarc and Legent. Anderson has been with Novell for seven years, focusing on directory and security technologies. He has recently expanded his focus to standardization. Before joining Novell, Anderson worked at 3M developing medical information systems and at IBM, working on federal defense projects.
