ADVISORY/Computer Fraud and Crime Detection Technology to be Demonstrated At High Technology Crime Investigation Association Conference September 18-20

Deloitte and Touche's Forensic and Investigative Services experts
to demonstrate how to use specialized crime- fighting technology
Technology which can detect internal fraud and other crime will be demonstrated by computer crime experts from Deloitte & Touche at the High Technology Crime Investigation Association annual conference on September 18-20th at the Sheraton Arlington Park, 3400 West Euclid Avenue, Arlington Heights, Illinois.
In the laboratory titled "Introduction to Computer Forensics," members of Deloitte & Touche's Forensic and Investigative Services practice will discuss the basics of computer forensics and how to find and preserve computer evidence for legal purposes. "Electronic Data Discovery and Anomaly Detection," another lab, will describe Deloitte & Touche's Link Analysis Program which discovers connections between internal and external data and can help ferret out fraud, ghost payrollers and other crime. Finally, a presentation on "Electronic Data Discovery, Acquisition and Analysis," will be offered as well.
Deloitte & Touche's forensic computer experts include Robert Nelson, who heads the Forensic and Investigative Services practice in Chicago and specializes in computer forensics, data analysis, and security reviews and David Wilson, a specialist in computer forensics and electronic discovery, who has a significant background in law enforcement and is based in Dallas. Other experts include the leaders of National Computer Forensics Laboratories in Dallas, Eric Schwarz, senior manager, and San Francisco, Kris Haworth, manager.
Speaker of the House Dennis J. Hastert will open the conference on September 18, at 9:00 a.m. Afterward, the training sessions, labs, and presentations on computer security topics will be offered.
