Avicon Names Former Compaq Executive as Vice President of Strategic Alliances; Hires Accomplished Sales and Marketing Executive George Knipfing

Avicon, a leading Internet business-to-business consulting firm, today announced the appointment of George Knipfing as vice president of strategic alliances.
Knipfing brings more than 20 years of global business experience to Avicon. He has led sales organizations, managed company turn-arounds, and opened sales and service offices for firms around the world. Prior to joining Avicon, Knipfing was responsible for global supply chain consulting at Compaq where he managed relationships with i2, Adexa, and other supply chain providers. Before that he served as director of supply chain solutions at Benchmarking Partners. Prior to that he served as director of international business at Oberon Software, vice president of ICL, and president of STG Software, a leading global APS vendor.
Knipfing holds an MBA from Wayne State University and served as Captain in the United States Marine Corps.
