MP3 Music Leader First To Offer Consumers Free Music With The Purchase

Of SanDisk Flash Memory Products

SanDisk Corporation (Nasdaq:SNDK) and EMusic.com (Nasdaq:EMUS) announced today that the two companies have developed an agreement to offer consumers 12 free MP3 song titles with the purchase of SanDisk CompactFlash(TM) (CF(TM)), SmartMedia(TM) and MultiMediaCard memory cards and ImageMate(TM) card readers.

"This agreement demonstrates the advance of digital audio into all aspects of everyday life," said Steve Grady, vice president of marketing for EMusic.com. "By teaming together, EMusic and SanDisk are helping consumers enjoy the benefits and convenience of digital music."

Beginning in September, SanDisk will be including a coupon with shipments of SanDisk CompactFlash, SmartMedia and MultiMediaCard memory cards and ImageMate reader products to the retail channel. Each coupon will entitle the user to download 12 free MP3 songs from EMusic: six pre-selected songs and a credit for six tracks of their own choice. EMusic's catalog of over 125,000 MP3s offers music from established, `signed' musicians in many different genres -- from blues and country to rock, hip hop and alternative.

Nelson Chan, SanDisk's senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing said, "Buying SanDisk memory cards, and getting your favorite music free with them, is an innovative, new concept that consumers will love. SanDisk and EMusic are setting in place an incentive to encourage consumers to experiment with a new way to purchase music on line which is more convenient, economical and quicker."

SanDisk CompactFlash, MultiMediaCard, SmartMedia memory cards and ImageMate readers are available at more than 20,000 retail outlets worldwide, including Best Buy, Future-Shop and Office Depot under the SanDisk brand name.
