Crosslink Capital Expands to Accommodate Growth; Adds to Venture Capital and Public Market Investment Teams and Opens New Office

Crosslink Capital today announced key promotions and additions, adding new depth and talent to both its public and private market investment teams. Jason Sanders has been named Principal and General Partner of Crosslink's newest venture capital fund, Omega Ventures IV, L.P.; Tucker Brockhoff, also named Principal, becomes a Portfolio Manager in Public Equities; while Sonia Survanshi and Chris Kaegi both join the firm as Venture Associates. In related news, the firm moved to new, expanded offices in San Francisco to accommodate growth.
Since Crosslink's management-led buyout from Robertson Stephens in 1999 assets under management have increased nearly threefold, and the firm will soon close its largest venture capital fund to date. Jason Sanders
Principal & General Partner -- Omega Ventures IV, L.P.
With his promotion to Principal, Jason Sanders also becomes a General Partner in Crosslink's latest venture capital fund, Omega Ventures IV. He will focus on companies operating in the eBusiness sector, where the convergence of the Internet, software and business services present compelling investment opportunities. Jason currently serves as a Board Observer for Crosslink Portfolio companies including Brightmail, Gator.com, Lipstream and supplyFORCE.
Prior to joining Crosslink in 1997, Jason was with Advent International, a Boston-based venture capital firm. There, he worked closely with dozens of companies and played a key role in the culmination of four transactions, all of which have completed initial public offerings. Previously, Jason was a consultant with CSC Index, where he developed and implemented customer service and order fulfillment programs for several clients, including The New York Times.
Jason received his B.S. in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Tucker Brockoff
Principal & Portfolio Manager, Public Equities
As a Principal specializing in public equities, Tucker Brockoff will help carry out the public market side of Crosslink's Cross-Spectrum investment strategy by finding public companies that will generate compelling returns for investors.
Prior to joining Crosslink, Tucker managed public equity portfolios at Robertson Stephens' Private Client Services Group. There, he provided investment advice to private clients whose collective assets topped $2 billion. Previously, he worked in the Private Client Group of Legg Mason, a Baltimore investment bank. Tucker began his career as a sales engineer for Rockwell International's Automation Division.
He earned his B.S. in electronic engineering from California Polytechnic State University, and an M.B.A. from Emory University.
Chris Kaegi
Associate, Venture Capital
Chris Kaegi joins Crosslink as an Associate in the Venture Capital group where he will support the venture partners on all aspects of their private equity investment activities, including deal sourcing, due diligence and ongoing portfolio company support. Before joining Crosslink, Chris served as an Associate Consultant with Bain & Company helping management teams of start-up companies transform their ideas into sustainable businesses. He also worked as an economic writer and had articles accepted by numerous publications including BusinessWeek.
A graduate of Amherst College, Chris holds a B.A. in economics.
Sonia Survanshi
Associate, Venture Capital
Also joining Crosslink as Venture Capital Associate is Sonia Survanshi. Like Chris, she will support the venture partners in all aspects of their investment activities. Sonia previously worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. as a Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst, where her specialties included the telecommunications and aerospace defense distributor sectors. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Research Analyst for the Federal Reserve Bank, as an Asset Management Intern for the emerging markets team at Montgomery Securities, Inc., and as a Brokerage Department Intern at Legg Mason Wood Walker Inc.
Sonia completed a dual degree program in liberal arts and technology at the University of Pennsylvania. She holds a B.A. in economics and a B.S. in engineering.
