SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 2000
Litronic Inc. (Nasdaq:LTNX), a leading provider of public key infrastructure (PKI)-based Internet security solutions, Thursday announced the successful demonstration of Litronic's Identrus(TM) compliant smart card based-client completing digital signature transactions through the Identrus four corner model.
Litronic's client for providing digital signatures, NetSign(R) GT, is being shown by Identrus solution providers at the SWIFT International Banking Operations Symposium (SIBOS) Conference, the largest gathering of international bankers.
NetSign GT, a client-side software package that enables smart card-based digital signatures, and Profile Manager(R) GT, a management tool for deployment of smart card and public key infrastructure (PKI) security solutions, help enable Identrus trading partners to securely transact business over the Internet.
"This successful demonstration of the Identrus signing interface exemplifies that Litronic, in concert with other solution providers, can successfully implement business-to-business e-commerce solutions in the Identrus model," said Kristen Kupres, chief operating officer (COO) of Identrus. "Litronic's solutions provide one of the key components of the Identrus system."
"The successful showing of Identrus enabled applications using NetSign GT at SIBOS is an example of Litronic's commitment to the development of a family of products that support open standards for security," said Bob Gray, chief technology officer of Litronic Inc.
"We are pleased with the acceptance of Litronic's offerings by Identrus application solution providers and will continue to expand our products, professional services and technical expertise to support Identrus and its members."
Litronic's NetSign GT implements the Identrus signing interface standard for enabling real time smart card-based digital signatures to provide authentication for signed transactions and documents in the Identrus system. NetSign GT provides identity authentication over the Web and strong non-repudiation required for financial institutions, and their customers working with Identrus.
It seamlessly integrates smart card functionality with Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Communicator to enable document signing, digitally signed and encrypted email, secure file transfer, and secure access to Web pages.
Litronic's Profile Manager GT provides issuance and lifecycle management for smart cards by centralizing deployment control and content for every user's digital credentials.
It streamlines policy profiling for certificates, credentials, PIN (personal identification number) rules, key generation and key backup and recovery, and allows customization to organizations by offering personalization of smart cards. ProFile Manager GT offers a simple, open solution for organizations issuing smart cards and PKI technology company-wide.
