STONEHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 2000
-- Outstanding Revenue Growth Establishes Percussion as One of the
Top 50 Software Companies in New England for the
Second Consecutive Year --
Percussion(R) Software, a leader in native XML content management solutions, today announced it has once again been named to the prestigious "New England Technology Fast 50", a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the area. The year 2000 rankings are based on five-year revenue growth (1995-1999). The program is co-sponsored by the professional services firm of Deloitte & Touche and the law firm of Hale and Dorr LLP, in association with Mass High Tech, the Journal of New England Technology.
Percussion Software's president and CEO, Barry Reynolds credits the company's world-class support organization, its innovative, easy to use products, and its successful entry into the Web Content Management market with the company's 739 percent revenue growth over the past five years. "We are excited to have been recognized as one of the fastest growing technology companies in New England for the second year in a row," he said. "Our ranking in the `New England Technology Fast 50' for 2000 is solid validation that we are an aggressive, innovative and successful enterprise."
"The definition of success in the technology marketplace is an elusive, forward-moving target. While it can be measured in many ways, it is pretty clear that the Fast 50 have made a definite impact on the marketplace and on the New England economy at large. Congratulations to Percussion Software for achieving this benchmark of success," said Steve DiPietro, a partner with Deloitte & Touche and Co-Chair of the 2000 New England Technology Fast 50 Program.
Percussion Software's increase in revenues of 739 percent over the five-year period of 1995 to 1999 resulted in a ranking of 35 overall in the Fast 50 for New England.
To qualify for the 2000 Fast 50 program, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1995 and a minimum of $1 million in operating revenues in 1999; may be public or private; and must be headquartered in the region. To be considered for an award, the company must produce technology, manufacture a technology product, be technologically intensive, use technology in problem solving, or devote a high percentage of effort to the research and development of technology.
All nominees of the 22 regional U.S. and Canadian Fast 50 programs are automatically entered in the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America's top 500 fastest-growing technology companies.
