BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 2000

International Data Group (IDG), the world's leading IT media and information services company, today announced the launch of Business Standard, Norway's first monthly business magazine focusing on the Internet economy. Business Standard is the Norwegian sister publication of The Industry Standard, IDG's award-winning news magazine for the internet economy.

Business Standard provides integrated content through its related print publication, website and seminars. The Web-based publication (www.business-standard.no) launched in conjunction with the September print issue and offers news, reference material and services for anyone interested in and affected by e-business developments. Business Standard will also be launching seminars for Norwegian e-business professionals, the first of which will be held in Oslo, November 21, 2000.

Targeted at business decision-makers, Internet strategists, and industry influencers, Business Standard features useful coverage of the people, companies and business models that are forming the Internet economy as well as the new IT solutions that are making this possible. The publication includes news, in-depth articles and case studies tailored to the Norwegian market by an editorial staff consisting of the best e-commerce experts in the country. Business Standard's seasoned editorial team is led by editor-in-chief Arne Uppheim, previously editor-in-chief of PC World Norge, Norway's largest and most successful computer publication; and editor Per Martin Fosmark, formerly a senior consultant at Cap Gemini.

"When we founded The Industry Standard magazine in the United States more than two years ago, our vision was to create a company that would inform and inspire a global community of business leaders with the highest-quality information and services available anywhere. With the launch of the Business Standard in Norway, I am excited to see that dream come closer to reality," said John Battelle, chairman, president and CEO of The Standard.

Distribution is primarily based on controlled, qualified distribution to selected target groups. Total circulation is 30,000. For more information, please contact editor Per Martin Fosmark at fosmark@idg.no
