NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 2000
IPNet Solutions Inc., a leading provider of business-to-business connectivity solutions, Monday announced a free interactive seminar addressing security in the supply chain.
Special guest Joanne Friedman, a leading expert in electronic commerce with META Group, an IT industry analyst firm, will be the featured speaker Friday, Sept. 22 at 9 a.m. PST. Friedman will discuss the hot topic of business-to-business security and will provide guidance to organizations that have not yet identified or implemented a security strategy for their e-business initiatives.
"As companies implement e-business strategies and adopt Internet-based supply networks, more confidential information is transmitted online," said Friedman. "The transition from EDI to B2B requires a robust form of security that promotes collaboration among supply chain participants."
This event is part of an ongoing "Webinar" series and is targeted toward CIOs, IT managers and decision-makers responsible for e-commerce, e-business, B2B and B2C supply chains and logistics. IPNet's hour-long interactive Webinar and Q&A session will provide an opportunity to learn about e-marketplaces, exchanges and trading communities through a real-time discussion from the desktop.
"Security is a primary concern for any company disclosing information with trading partners," said Kian Saneii, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at IPNet Solutions. "IPNet realizes an examination of industry security needs must consider supply chain participants' requirements for interoperability and accommodate varying security levels across the trading community."
Friedman will lead the discussion on the following topics: new trends in B2B security, developments and standards; EDI to B2B migration; dynamic encryption and compression -- when to use it; compression performance; and how encryption can effect your back-end infrastructure.
Discussion will also focus on digital signatures and how the new federal law is driving and challenging electronic security technology.
System requirements for the Webinar include Internet connectivity, a Java-enabled browser and telephone for audio. Online registration is available at http://www.ipnetsolutions.com/webinar.html at no cost and a white paper will be available for download by all registered participants. A replay will be available online by Wednesday, Sept. 27.
Friedman is recognized in the high tech manufacturing industry for her work on inter-enterprise integration, (B2B) XML standards development and managing the "virtual enterprise." Currently, she is actively involved in many industry initiatives including the Open Application Group (OAG) and the National Electronics Manufacturing Initiative, (NEMI) Virtual Factory Information Interchange Project.
