SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 2000
Securant Teams with IBM to Provide Secure Access Management
for Protecting e-Business Applications and Services
Securant Technologies, the access management company that secures eBusiness, today announced that it has joined IBM's (NYSE: IBM) PartnerWorld for Developers Program as an advanced member. Through the relationship, Securant's ClearTrust SecureControl product will provide integrated support for IBM WebSphere(1) Application Server, a key part of the WebSphere software platform. The relationship will provide businesses an integrated and secure e-business infrastructure based on Securant's ClearTrust SecureControl access management system and the IBM WebSphere Application Server. The combined technologies help speed time to market for e-business applications and provide a more secure, personalized experience for end-users.
"We are pleased to work with Securant to provide Global 2000 companies with additional options that deliver the scalability and security they need to conduct business with customers, partners and employees," said Paraic Sweeney, vice president of marketing, WebSphere software platform, IBM.
Some of the Global 2000 companies currently relying on ClearTrust SecureControl to maintain granular access control over e-business systems and provide users a seamless Web experience include Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, and Thomson Financial. ClearTrust SecureControl provides a tightly integrated, highly scalable and easy to manage solution for providing secure and transparent user access to WebSphere-based resources.
ClearTrust SecureControl delivers a complete access management infrastructure for fast deployment of e-business applications through:
-- Multi-domain single sign-on that allows users to securely move between linked applications and resources within a company, affiliate sites, between trading partners, and in Application Service Provider (ASP) environments. -- Rules-based authorization that enables enterprises and service providers to use natural language business rules to centralize, automatically assign and dynamically adjust access permissions based on a user's profile (role, account balance, subscription level, etc.), giving users personalized view of information. -- Internet scale throughput performance that was measured in independent tests as providing fours times more user logins per minute than the nearest competitor. -- Virtual Business Units that allow time-consuming user administration workloads to be distributed on three levels: within a company (across departments, divisions, etc.); externally to Extranet partners and customers; and to individual users/subscribers via a self-service function. -- Real-time monitoring of application level behavior in order to proactively prevent application misuse and fraud.
"We are pleased to be working with IBM to provide an integrated access management solution for the WebSphere software platform for e-business," said Eric Olden, chief technology officer, Securant Technologies. "The combination of ClearTrust SecureControl and WebSphere Application Server will provide IBM's Global 2000 customers with a complete, highly scalable and secure infrastructure upon which they can confidently host their most demanding and sensitive e-business applications."
