Art Technology Group Adds Robert Walters and Phyllis Swersky to Board of Directors

Financial Services to Join ATG's Board
Art Technology Group, Inc. ("ATG") (Nasdaq: ARTG), developers of e-commerce and online personalization applications, today announced the appointment of Robert Walters, senior vice-president and CIO of John Hancock Financial Services, and Phyllis Swersky, president of the Meltech Group to its Board of Directors, effective May 19th. Both Walters and Swersky bring over 20 years of business and technology wisdom and experience to ATG's board.

Mr. Walters is responsible for technology management activities for John Hancock and its subsidiaries. In this capacity, he oversees a budget of over $200 million and 1,300 technology professionals. He is credited with linking Hancock's business strategy with IT direction and application development as well as managing all IT services such as computing, networking and e-commerce capabilities. Prior to Hancock, Walters held positions with Citibank, Bankers Trust and Marine Midland Bank. He is also a board member for the Essex Corporation.
Ms. Swersky is a current board member of Investors Financial Services Corp., Circles (Life Concierge.com) Inc., Berkshire Life Insurance Company and the Northeastern University Board of Overseers, as well as a former board member of Massachusetts Technology Development Corporation for nine years. Ms. Swersky is president of the Meltech Group, which provides business advisory services to CEOs and executive management teams of growing companies. She has over 20 years of hands-on management and financial experience, including experience as president of several computer software and services companies. Swersky specializes in developing and integrating the strategy, infrastructure and culture necessary to drive organizations to profitable growth. She has been featured in Fortune magazine and has spoken at many conferences regarding women in business.
