NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--September 19, 2000
Newyorktoday.com (www.newyorktoday.com), the comprehensive online guide to everything New York from New York Times Digital, the Internet division of The New York Times Company, announced today that it has enhanced its design to allow for easier navigation and quicker access to more timely information about New York.
The new design brings to the surface the rich content of the site, allowing users to experience the depth of information and features that newyorktoday.com has to offer for New Yorkers.
"We're pleased to present New Yorkers with the `new' newyorktoday.com," said Jason Krebs, vice president and general manager of newyorktoday.com. "Since the day we launched the site, we've been listening to feedback from our users and have been committed to continual improvement. We're pleased to have redesigned the site in a way that we feel best supports and highlights the information that New Yorkers are looking for about their city."
New features will continually be added to the site to ensure that New Yorkers can keep their finger on the pulse of what's happening in the City "today." A more robust Arts & Entertainment section includes new features such as "Most Requested" restaurants and bars. Mainstays such as "Today at TKTS" and the Fashion & Shopping section have been enhanced and improved as well, as have The City and Real Estate sections, among others.
The Neighborhood News and Guides area offers a comprehensive look at news and events city-wide and in surrounding areas including Westchester, Long Island, New Jersey and Connecticut. Users can also get a glimpse of the week ahead through the "Best Events of the Week" feature. In addition, a more prominent search function throughout the site will help readers find exactly what they are looking for.
In the weeks ahead, newyorktoday.com will introduce additional elements, including "New York People," a local business news section, a New York news quiz, "Apartment of the Day," New York-themed crossword puzzles from Will Shortz, and expanded Metro News coverage from NYTimes.com.
