Zeus TCP/IP Software IP-Enables Printers, Providing Seamless
Connectivity to Existing Networks and Information Systems
Seiko Instruments USA Inc., a provider of direct thermal printers and print mechanisms, and Zeus Wireless, Inc., an emerging supplier of wireless data solution platforms, today announced their partnership to integrate Seiko Instrument's DPU-3445 printer with long-range wireless connectivity supplied by Zeus' ZLRT2100 2.4 GHz frequency hopping transceiver. The next-generation wireless printer solution offers an indoor range of up to 1,500 feet in normal building construction and an outdoor line-of-sight range of up to 25 miles with a directional antenna.
"The addition of Zeus' wireless capability to the DPU-3445 printer expands our market possibilities, especially in industrial and commercial settings," said Bob Falco, director of marketing for Seiko Instruments. "When combined with Zeus' TCP/IP Intercept network software, the DPU-3445 now has direct visibility to the IP world. Corporate intranets - even a user on the Internet - can now remotely print to the DPU-3445. Application developers from health care to industrial test and measurement to utilities can integrate Seiko's wireless-enabled DPU-3445 printer into a comprehensive wireless solution."
"The Seiko and Zeus partnership marks another step for Zeus toward realizing our wireless business strategy in the industrial and commercial marketplace," said Michael Zito, vice president of marketing for Zeus Wireless. "Zeus' family of low-cost, long-range 2.4 GHz frequency hopping transceivers and networking software combined with innovative products like the DPU-3445 will continue to expand the range of industrial and commercial applications. We are pleased to partner with Seiko and look forward to further success in the universe of wireless printers."
