Veritas DGC Inc. to Begin Land Seismic Operations in Tunisia

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 21, 2000
Veritas DGC Inc. (NYSE:VTS)(TSE:VTS.) announced today that it has signed a contract to acquire approximately 1,000 km of 2D land seismic data in southern Tunisia.
The contract marks the first of a planned expansion beyond Veritas' current Middle-East land base in Oman. "We have proven our operating policies and procedures in Oman, and are looking forward to expanding our land acquisition services to the exploration industry throughout the Middle East and Africa," said Rob LaFleur, Senior Vice President of Veritas DGC Land. Veritas has set industry records for high production rates and exemplary HSE record in desert conditions, including a recent span of more than five million exposure hours worked without a Lost-Time Incident in Oman.
Operations are currently planned to begin in October 2000, with a specially equipped 1,500 channel recording crew.
