REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 2000
Centura(R) Software Corp. (Nasdaq:CNTR), a leading global provider of solutions that mobilize the enterprise, announces its presence at the upcoming Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) in San Jose, which gets underway Sunday, September 24th and runs until Thursday, September 28th. Centura will conduct a demonstration of its Mobile Connectivity Server, eSNAPP 2.0, which extends the power of business data and rich applications to handhelds and Information Appliances (IA).
eSNAPP helps enterprises extend business-critical data and existing applications from the client-server environment to the Web and wireless environments via handheld devices and other information appliances. The addition of an eSNAPP 2.0 server, without any other infrastructural modification, will allow the eSNAPP-enabled mobile devices to access the same enterprise application as the PC. At ESC, with eSNAPP Centura will demonstrate a Symbol device running on a Palm OS and an HP Journada device running on WinCE, accessing a wireless LAN and WAP phone Emulator.
"The events at the Embedded Systems Conference will highlight the extent to which Centura has been successful in mobilizing the enterprise," said Scott Broomfield, Chairman and CEO of Centura. "eSNAPP transforms handhelds into real-time enterprise information query, messaging and reporting tools that are not limited to any particular OS."
Additionally, Centura will be present at Wind River Systems' Partner Pavilion, booth No. 830. Centura is a longtime partner of Wind River Systems, a leading provider of reliable, innovative software solutions and services for connected, smart devices.
The Embedded Systems Conference is an educational forum dedicated to providing software and hardware engineers working on embedded system design with up-to-date information on tools, techniques and services. The conference includes a comprehensive program of classes and tutorials and the industry's largest product exhibition covering the full spectrum of development tools, hardware, and services for embedded design.
