SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 25, 2000
EPSON Electronics America (EEA), the world's leader in embedded graphics color LCD controllers, will have two business units -- the LCD controller and the Microcontroller units -- exhibiting at the Embedded Systems Conference (ESC), Fall 2000, Booth No. 1932. Each unit will showcase market-leading technology designed in portable and embedded applications.
EPSON's LCD controller unit will feature its SED1355 and SED1386 controllers during live demonstrations of Ceiva's and Weave Innovation's digital picture frames, which download and display digital photography from the Internet. Low-cost, low-power, feature-rich color display LCD controllers will also be shown supporting the latest handheld devices such as the Palm IIIc(TM), Palm V(TM) and the HP Jornada 545.
EPSON's Microcontroller unit (MCU) will feature the high-speed, low-power E0C332L01 32-bit single chip RISC Microcontroller, E0C88F360 8-bit single chip Microcontroller with built-in flash memory and E0C37109 with Hitachi 32-bit RISC processor SH7709. Other products in the booth include Quartz Devices, featuring the SG-8002 Programmable Series of Crystal Oscillators, and LCD Modules. The primary applications for these products are personal computer, cellular, networking and telecommunications products.
"Demonstrating our IC products in tomorrow's portable system applications validates EPSON's energy-saving technology. EPSON's LCD controller and microcontroller products use the latest low-power, low-voltage IC technology that has been perfected over many years and fuels the world's most voluminous markets, such as watches, pagers, cell phones and peripherals," said Roy daSilva, executive director, EPSON Electronics America. "Visitors to our booth will see how EPSON's technology enables engineers to deliver innovative, high-powered and connected devices quickly to market."
