By adding these convenience features to the Satellite notebook, Toshiba is answering the demands of today's multimedia-driven customer."

Features to Complement the Multimedia Enthusiast's Lifestyle

Designed to deliver the optimal mobile computing experience for the student, family or SOHO user, the Satellite 1715XCDS is equipped with CD playback function keys for skip/search and play/stop capabilities, enabling users to access their music without interruption to what they were working on.

In addition, Toshiba's sound system with stereo speakers delivers crisp, clear sound quality that is ideal for listening to MP3 files. The Satellite 1715XCDS is equipped with Windows Me, Microsoft's newly introduced operating system that helps you share your memories with family and friends. With the tools provided by Windows Movie Maker (included with Windows Me), you can store home movies and photographs on your hard drive, edit out imperfections, and e-mail them to your loved ones.

Furthering the offerings for the home PC owner, Windows Me includes the Home Networking Wizard, which lets users set up a home network with multiple systems using only one Internet connection. This allows family members to share selected files and printers, and play multi-player games between PCs.

Internet Explorer 5.5, also included with Windows Me, offers added safety features that screen out objectionable material and protect PCs from corruption. In addition, this feature expands the capabilities of e-mail, allowing customers to have multiple accounts on one PC, send instant messages and have online video conversations.
