SynXis Corporation, a leading developer of electronic commerce and software solutions, announced today that National Directory Company (NDC), the largest independent publisher of Yellow Pages in the Western United States, has put their Yellow Pages online using SynXis eDirectory(TM) technology.
SynXis eDirectory(TM) is the only digital Yellow Pages application that provides publishers with an instant ability to electronically access and display online the full content of their Yellow Pages in an easy-to-use, familiar and intuitive environment - exactly the way it appears in print.
Using SynXis eDirectory(TM), NDC is able to give their end-users full access to their advertisers as they actually appear in the printed version including the familiar page layout and category headings.
In addition, publishers can now create new revenue streams with features such as voice over IP, mapping, online coupons and direct links to Web sites. Also, SynXis eDirectory(TM) lets users search by heading making online Yellow Pages even more convenient.
According to the 1999 Yellow Page Publishers Association (YPPA) Industry Usage Study, 85% of the people using print Yellow Pages directories contact listed advertiser and 45% of them made a purchase. SynXis eDirectory(TM) allows publishers to bring this print power online by building on all of the Yellow Pages' print brand elements, using the Internet and giving consumers what they want faster.
