LOS ANGELES--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Sept. 29, 2000

Tracey Ullman, Purpleskirt.com, InStyle, L'Oreal and The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) will join forces on November 18, 2000 to host the first "Super Saturday LA" designer garage sale, it was announced today by Tracey Ullman, Carol Hamilton of L'Oreal and Jamie Boris of the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

Tracey Ullman will serve as mistress-of-ceremony for this unique charity event that unites the worlds of fashion and Hollywood with special co-hosts Meg Ryan, Julianne Moore, Rob Lowe and Calista Flockhart. Proceeds from "Super Saturday LA" will benefit OCRF's The Liz Tilberis Scholars Program for Excellence in Ovarian Cancer Research. In addition, 20% of the day's proceeds will benefit the UCLA Medical Center and the Cedars Sinai Medical Center to help further their efforts to educate the public about ovarian cancer.

The fun-filled family event continues the tradition of the original "Super Saturday" garage sale held in the Hamptons in New York each summer. "Super Saturday LA" will be held on the NY street back lot at Paramount Pictures from 12-7 p.m., with event tickets available for purchase at $250.00 for adults and $100.00 for children. The event will feature a special Harvest Celebration packed with high-profile fashions, including Los Angeles' hottest designs; a kids' carnival with games, arts and crafts; foods of the season; and cocktails and entertainment. John Lovitz will announce the winners of an exciting raffle and Tracey Ullman will call the live luxury auction, which includes a custom purple Indian motorcycle.

Currently, confirmed designer participants include: Anna Sui, BCBG MaxAzria, Betsey Johnson, Brooks Brothers, Catherine Malandrino, Christina Perrin, Diane Von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Earl Jean, Eluxury.com, Estyle.com, Fred Segal, Halston, Inca, Katayone Adeli, Kenneth Cole, Lily Scott, Liz Lange Maternity, Lisa Kline, Nicole Farhi, Nicole Miller, Pottery Barn Kids, PurpleSkirt.com, Randolph Duke, Roxy, Scoop, Shoshanna, Tocca, and Tommy Hilfiger to name a few.

"We are thrilled to bring Super Saturday, our most successful annual fundraiser, to Los Angeles this year," said Jamie Boris, Executive Director of OCRF. "We are even more delighted to work with Tracey, Purpleskirt.com and our great friends at L'Oreal on this exciting opportunity to further our efforts to end this deadly disease."

Tracey Ullman's relationship with OCRF began when her long-time friend Liz Tilberis came on board in 1997. Last year, Ms. Ullman was pleased to act as hostess of the charity's "A Very Liz Night: Millennium Dresses Benefit and Auction" fundraiser in New York City. The event was a tremendous success, raising over $1.3 million dollars for OCRF.

Confidants since they met when Liz Tilberis was editor of British Vogue, Ms. Ullman credits her comfort with fashion to that relationship: "Fashion is a fickle business. It can either empower you or make you feel insecure. Liz always encouraged me to express my personal style. I truly believe I had the confidence to found Purpleskirt.com in large part because of Liz."

L'Oreal, as part of the company's mission to give back to women and support their right to make educated choices, is proud to partner with the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. In recent years, L'Oreal has made a $100,000 donation to directly fund a 2-year scientific research grant focusing on the development of new therapies and techniques for early detection of ovarian cancer. Last December 2nd in New York City, L'Oreal also proudly sponsored OCRF's "A Very Liz Night: Millennium Dresses Benefit and Auction," an exclusive preview and auction of 36 "millennium dresses" commissioned by the late Liz Tilberis and designed by the fashion industry's biggest stars. All proceeds from the auction were given to OCRF to fund ongoing research.

"Super Saturday" was originally conceived in 1998 by Donna Karan and Liz Tilberis, the late and beloved President of OCRF and editor of Harper's BAZAAR. On August 5, 2000, Donna Karan hosted "Super Saturday 3," along with Entertainment Weekly and supporters Kim Cattrall, Edie Falco, Cyndi Lauper, Kyle Maclachlan and Bebe Neuwirth. The event boasted over 50 designer booths including Donna Karan, Cynthia Rowley, Diane Von Furstenberg, Kate Spade, Ralph Lauren and Randolph Duke and raised over $300,000 for research.

The Ovarian Research Cancer Fund is the leading independent not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to advancing research, raising awareness and finding a cure for ovarian cancer. OCRF's Liz Tilberis Scholars Program for Excellence in Ovarian Cancer Research, a nationwide competition that will launch in December 2000, has been developed to afford opportunities to gynecologic oncologists in the area of comprehensive management of women with ovarian cancer. Each Liz Tilberis Scholar will receive a three-year grant of $100,000 per annum and will be supported in their most productive years so they can devote their scientific efforts to the investigation and treatment of ovarian cancer for a lifetime. OCRF's website is www.ocrf.org.
