E. NORTHPORT, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 5, 2000
Sybari Software, Inc., the premier antivirus and security specialist for groupware solutions, today announced that Merrill Lynch (NYSE: MER) has selected Sybari's Antigen to provide antivirus protection for its global groupware environment.
"With one of the largest Microsoft Exchange environments deployed on a global scale, we required an antivirus solution that could deliver comprehensive security and protection in a complex groupware environment," said Kimberly Scott, vice president, Email Product Management, Merrill Lynch. "We subjected Antigen to rigorous testing and in every case Antigen reliably scanned 100% of the messages before objects were written to the information store, with little or no adverse impact on server performance.
Antigen's innovative management of the scanning process provides Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes users with the most comprehensive protection available against the threat of destructive viruses. Antigen integrates with groupware as a multi-faceted antivirus solution, scanning and managing incoming e-mail and data before these can reach sensitive parts of the network. Through its unique processes of in-memory scanning, which scans objects as these are written to the information store in real time, and trusted scanning, which allows messages scanned at one location to pass as trusted to the next, Antigen significantly reduces the burden the antivirus solution imposes on network resources.
"Each Antigen deployment has its own considerations and challenges," said Joseph King, director of technical support for Sybari Software, Inc. "Our support technicians are groupware specialists, who understand a client's needs as these pertain to the complex and demanding groupware environment. Antigen has been designed to optimize groupware performance while providing the highest degree of protection for the enterprise. It is this expertise that has allowed Sybari to establish itself as the premier provider of security for the Exchange and Notes environments."
"We are pleased that Merrill Lynch has selected Antigen to protect its global groupware environment," said Robert Wallace, president and CEO of Sybari Software. "Merrill Lynch joins other industry leaders who have selected Antigen as a proven solution."
