Notes of Interest:
Survivor (#27) is over, for now, but Big Brother is riding high
with Web users at number three on the list. Big Brother has always
been a much bigger hit online than on television. In fact Lycos users
have kept the show in the Top 10 on The Lycos 50 for the past nine
weeks. This may be due to the live housecams featured on the Big
Brother Web site.
Other Notes of Interest:
Although her new movie Whipped got panned by critics, actress
Amanda Peet (#34) is still a hit with Web users. She appears to be
building a big momentum after her earlier appearance this year in The
Whole Nine Yards.
Back to the Books:
Back to school means back to the books as textbooks made its debut
at number 21 on the list. About half the queries specified college
textbooks while Cliff Notes also ranked high with users.
Final Factoid:
The Lycos 50 Campaign 2000 watch of the two presidential
candidates shows search queries for Al Gore at 53 percent and queries
for George W. Bush at 47 percent.
