First Regional Chinese Carrier Is Connected Using Huawei

Equipment

ITXC Corp(R) (NASDAQ: ITXC) and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. today announced the addition of Huawei's Internet telephony equipment to ITXC.netTM, the world's largest Internet telephony network. Chinese licensed carriers can now connect to ITXC.net with Huawei Internet telephony equipment. Anhui Telecom, operating under the auspices of China Telecom, currently connects to ITXC.net using Huawei gateways. It is sending calls over ITXC.net, which has 273 IP PoPs in 155 cities and 63 countries. ITXC also expects the provincial telecoms and other carriers to begin terminating calls via Huawei gateways in the future.

Huawei is the largest China telecommunications equipment manufacturer and is one of Asia's largest network solutions providers offering an array of products from Internet telephony equipment to mobile communications equipment. ITXC Corp is the operator of ITXC.net and sells tier 1 quality wholesale call completion and other voice services over the Internet to carriers and communication portals.

The MII (Ministry of Information Industry of China) recently issued a policy encouraging China's licensed carriers to operate MII certified equipment manufactured in China. Huawei is the first equipment vendor certified by the MII to offer Internet telephony equipment that meets this criteria.

China Telecom's provincial branches have purchased over 800 E1s (30 telephone lines per E1) of Huawei's Internet telephony equipment. Huawei's customers include Guangdong Telecom, Beijing Telecom, Jiangsu Telecom, Anhui Telecom, Heilongjiang Telecom, Hebei Telecom, Guizhou Telecom, Shanxi Telecom, and China Netcom.

Since carriers in China and throughout the world choose to operate equipment from various vendors, operating a multi-vendor network enables ITXC to provide services to more carriers than if it operated a single vendor network. Interoperability of multi-vendor equipment is a key to ITXC's success and to the growth of the Internet telephony industry. Huawei's Internet telephony equipment is currently interoperable with the VocalTec equipment deployed on ITXC.net. ITXC is committed to interoperability and its vendors are working toward interoperability through the IMTC's iNOW! Initiative (http://www.imtc.org/act_inow.htm).

"As the current largest Internet equipment manufacturer in China, Huawei is very prudent in selecting our partners," said Mr. Liu Pin, the Vice President of Huawei in charge of Huawei Internet products. "We think ITXC's world largest Internet telephony network and its excellent service quality will bring considerable advantages to Huawei as well as our customers. Huawei is pleased and looking forward to developing the Internet telephony markets of China and the world with ITXC."

"Three elements that ITXC looks for when adding Internet telephony equipment from a new vendor to ITXC.net are an established customer base, quality, and commitment to interoperability," said Tom Evslin, Chairman and CEO of ITXC. "Huawei provides ITXC with all three. We are pleased to be working with this highly respected Chinese vendor and to be able to serve the Chinese carrier market."
