"With VBA, Asset360 will have the ability to provide customized business solutions to unlimited vertical industries," said Yong K. Kim, Chairman and CEO of Percuity. "In the financial arena, whether in mergers and acquisitions, tax or insurance, the key to maximizing profit and minimizing payout is knowing exactly which IT assets you have, where they are, and how much you're using them."
"Percuity's singular dedication to transforming the desktop asset environment for users is being met with Asset360 v.3.0," he continued.
Percuity is a leader in designing practical, elegant software for easy application of the desktop asset management discipline. Asset360 will be the first IT desktop asset management product to feature VBA when it launches in Q4 of this year as Asset360 v.3.0.
The strategy behind VBA inclusion in Asset360 took into consideration the goal of enabling product integration that will be supported by 3.2 million global VBA programmers in customer organizations and Percuity's reseller channel.
"This is a very large support base that understands customer operations, and will use the power of VBA to customize Asset360 objects and integrate desktop asset information into existing enterprise applications," added Mr. Kim.
"We welcome the addition of Percuity to the team of organizations that integrate VBA with their products," said Dave Edson, technical product manager at Microsoft. "Percuity is demonstrating its commitment to the user by extending Asset360's application functionality using VBA to integrate with financial, risk mitigation and other vertical market applications."
Ash Rofail, Chief Technology Officer of User Technology Associates Group(TM), explained Percuity's approach to finding the ideal development system complement for Asset360.
"We analyzed a range of industries and how they manage information," he said, "and found that no two companies were managing the most basic kind - desktop information - in the same way.
"Desktop information is the starting point of the information lifecycle of all other applications," he continued. "Most companies take occasional snapshots of an application's performance at the desktop. We know the information is dynamic information and that what was needed was a way to integrate it with other business data, such as financial, helpdesk, CRM and ERP.
"This is what would allow organizations to make better business decisions, and it's why we wanted to integrate with VBA," Mr. Rofail said. "We're confident that our message of implementing a Distributed Desktop Management Platform will resonate with IT organizations in every industry."
About VBA
Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications is a powerful development technology for rapidly customizing packaged applications and integrating them with existing data and systems.
