The U.S. Small Business Administration, Green River Community College, and the Women's Business Center are offering a free event, Financing Options for the Small Business Owner, on Tuesday, September 12, 2000.

The event will take place at Green River Community College, Lindbloom Student Center, 12401 SE 320th Street, Auburn, Washington, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

"For many small business owners, figuring out what financing options are available for their business needs can be confusing," said Bob Meredith, SBA Seattle District Director. "This event is designed to help them to evaluate their small business financing needs and to help them gain access to the capital they need."

When Gwendolyn Hannah, owner of Trillium Employee Services in Bellevue, first looked into the prospect of obtaining a small business loan, the process seemed daunting. It wasn't until she attended an SBA-sponsored financing event in Seattle that she decided to go ahead with it. As a result, Hannah was able to connect with a bank that fit her particular needs. According to Hannah, "it's important to shop for the right bank, and this type of event made it easy."

Small business owners will benefit from the informative workshops and onsite assistance provided by lenders and technical service providers. They will come away with useful information to help them better assess their financial outlook, negotiate with lenders, and improve cash flow.

Workshops topics cover how the loan process works and building a business plan. Small business owners are also invited to bring their business plans and loan proposals to receive one-on-one assistance from financial experts.
