BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 2001
XML integration provides easy access to QuarkXPress, MS Word and
PDF files through leading enterprise digital asset management system
Artesia Technologies, the leader in enterprise digital asset management, announced today that PCI, a systems integration and software development firm specializing in cross-media applications, has integrated its Internet Content Publishing Suite (iCPS) with Artesia's TEAMS digital asset management solution.
The immediate availability of this new product offering will allow users to easily migrate QuarkXPress or Microsoft Word-based publications along with their respective metadata into a TEAMS-based content repository.
Using XML to transport these assets, major publishers will be able to repurpose and reuse their content across a number of delivery channels, including the Web and wireless devices, while also enjoying increased productivity and additional cost-savings through the development of streamlined production processes and workflows.
"As a leading provider of technology focused publications in an increasingly competitive market, we needed a fully integrated cross-media publishing system," said Jim Hurst, CIO of PBI Media, LLC. "The PCI-enabled integration of QPS with Artesia's TEAMS and Interwoven's TeamSite provides us with a powerful solution for addressing a range of complex requirements. Once installed, this end-to-end publishing platform will increase the efficiency of our existing operations and serve as the foundation for a number of new business units."
"We are excited about the seamless integration that will allow QuarkXPress users to easily store, manage and access their work in Artesia's leading digital asset management system," said Andrew Bart, president of PCI. "The integrated solution provides a powerful and totally automated means for storing the original QuarkXPress document along with the extracted XML and PDF version in a single, easy-to-manage file format."
"With the convergence of traditional and new business models it is even more critical for our customers to leverage content from one media to the next", said Sebastian Holst, vice president of marketing for Artesia Technologies. "The integration of these truly best-in-breed solutions will allow users to create content even more efficiently, while allowing organizations to profit from new opportunities available in cross-media publishing."
PCI was also recently recognized as a Seybold "Hot Pick" in conjunction with the Seybold Boston Conference, April 9-12, and will be demonstrating in Artesia Technologies' Booth No. 205.
