Waste Management Names Thomas F. Derieg as Vice President of Fleet Services and Logistics

Waste Management Inc. (NYSE:WMI) announces the appointment of Thomas F. Derieg as Vice President of Fleet Services and Logistics.
In his role, Mr. Derieg will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures, with accompanying measurement, analytical and management tools for the largest fleet in the solid waste industry. He will report to Chuck Williams, Senior Vice President, Operations.
"Waste Management has a number of initiatives underway which are geared to make ours a world-class fleet," said Williams. "Tom brings 25 years of experience and strong leadership and organizational skills that will guide this company as we work to achieve excellence in our fleet operations."
Mr. Derieg joins Waste Management after a career in airline operations and maintenance and the independent aircraft overhaul business. Previously, Mr. Derieg served as Group Vice President of Commercial Aviation for Sabreliner Inc. He also served as Senior Vice President of Operations for America West Airlines and Aloha Airlines.
Mr. Derieg earned a bachelor's degree in engineering science from the U.S. Airforce Academy and holds an MBA from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business.
