China Netcom Corporation Ltd. Selects Norsat To Provide DVB Data Hub For Broadband Network Services

Norsat International Inc. (NASDAQ:NSAT)(TSE:NII.) today announced that it has signed an agreement with China Netcom Corporation Limited (CNC), China's leading broadband infrastructure provider, to supply a large, fully redundant SpectraWorks DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) Data Hub for CNC's Internet gateway in Beijing.
Norsat will also be supplying a number of Ku-band satellite terminals for CNC's initial satellite broadband rollout. Delivery and installation are scheduled for completion by the end of April 2001.
The CNC order follows similar successes with other South East Asian and Chinese network operators. Norsat is now receiving customer signoff on these advanced management systems as they are put into multimedia application service, solidifying Norsat's position as a complete solution provider.
