WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 19, 2001

WildPackets Inc., developers of AiroPeek(TM), the industry's first comprehensive, affordable 802.11b packet analyzer, today announced the release of NetSense(TM) v.4.1, an upgrade of their expert analysis application, which includes a new 802.11 wireless summary with signal strength and traffic breakdown statistics.

NetSense is a comprehensive Windows-based application that performs expert analysis of peer-to-peer conversations in packets captured from over 20 different protocol analyzers. The most critical information from each packet is extracted and displayed in several different formats, empowering the network analyst to view trace files in a highly graphical and interactive fashion. The NetSense PacketVisualizer(TM) allows the user to see response time relationships between application commands and replies, facilitating immediate identification of problem origins, whether it is the client, the server, or the network infrastructure itself.

Prior to this release, two versions of NetSense have been made available -- one that read WildPackets' "Peek" packet file format and a more universal file format-reading version. NetSense v.4.1 combines the two products into one unified offering that sells for $995 SRP, and is available in several new wireless product bundles through direct sales, channel partners, or WildPackets' e-commerce site. NetSense maintenance owners receive the upgrade automatically as one of their maintenance benefits.
