NEC to Resell Calico's eBusiness Applications in Japan

Calico Commerce, Inc. (Nasdaq:CLIC), a leading provider of interactive selling software that enables corporations to sell over the Web, today announced that NEC Corporation, one of the world's leading global Internet solution providers, has chosen Calico Commerce Japan Inc. (Its Japanese subsidiary) to power NEC's "iBestSolutions(TM)/EC systems" that enables global 2000 companies and small to mid-sized enterprises to rapidly and cost-effectively implement B2Bsolutions.
With Calico's eBusiness applications powering the core of its eCommerce offering, NEC will enable its customers to begin taking and fulfilling online orders. NEC will resell Calico's applications in Japan to its customers who need to handle complex pricing and complex business transactions via the Web. With the joint NEC/Calico solution, companies will be able to grow and evolve their eBusiness efforts quickly and with lower levels of capital investment.
NEC has also built a professional services offering based on Calico's flexible and dynamic eBusiness solution. NEC's "Mid-size eMP jetpack" of professional, business and employment services will include system introduction, Web design and customization consulting.
