Certifications Position TCS to Lead Development of Next-Generation
Wireless Solutions
TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a key architect of wireless messaging software, today announced it has recently been awarded three new certifications from Cisco Systems.
These specializations, which include Wireless LAN, Voice Access, and IP Telephony, demonstrate TCS's excellence in the next generation of complex networking technologies. TCS is one of only five companies in the nation certified in all three areas.
"Achieving these certifications is a testament to the expertise we've developed in seamlessly integrating solutions into Cisco's platform," commented Maurice B. Tose, president and CEO of TCS. "We are excited that we are able to align ourselves technically with Cisco as they continue their movement into the wireless arena."
TCS has completed a focused effort to increase the level of both Cisco sales and support capabilities within its organization. As part of the certification process, TCS met all the rigorous requirements necessary to achieve these specializations.
With these certifications, TCS has positioned its sales and service organizations to sell, design, install, and support Cisco Voice Access, Wireless LAN, and IP Telephony products throughout the world.
In obtaining the Wireless LAN Specialization, TCS adds to its already proven expertise in wireless communications, which includes its Wireless Internet Gateway and Short Message Service products. The Voice Access Specialization demonstrates TCS's ability to integrate voice capabilities into legacy networks.
The ability to use Voice over IP (VoIP) for secure or non-secure communications is already part of TCS's Deployable Communications System. With the addition of the IP Telephony Specialization, TCS has proven it can facilitate the convergence of voice and data requirements into a single, seamlessly operating network using the complete line of Cisco products.
TCS occupies a unique position as a product and service provider with technologies embedded within the core of the wireless carrier network. The achievement of these specializations demonstrates TCS's ability to provide an interface between the carrier network and Cisco's IP-based platform, creating functional synergies that will ultimately enhance the end-user's productivity and flexibility.
