FirstLook Inks Video-Game Syndication Deals With eUniverse and Imagine Media; Streaming Previews Give Gamers a First Look at Latest Game Releases

Business Wire, April 24, 2001

SHERMAN OAKS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 24, 2001

Streaming media content and technology solutions provider FirstLook today announced syndication deals with eUniverse.com (Nasdaq:EUNI) and Imagine Media to integrate FirstLook's extensive catalog of video-game previews into the highly trafficked broadband game portals and entertainment network.

eUniverse will create an exclusive new games portal that will feature FirstLook previews, and Imagine Media (whose signature site is dailyradar.com) will integrate FirstLook previews into the game review sections of their respective sites.

FirstLook's cinematic game previews showcase actual gameplay for release on all major platforms including Nintendo 64, PlayStation, Xbox, Dreamcast and PC. Produced in-house, FirstLook's video-game previews highlight the different levels and features game characters, weapons and cheats and tricks from some of the most anticipated new games, including "Metal Gear 2," "Halo," "Warcraft III" and "Tropico," as well as current hits like "Madden NFL 2001," "Tony Hawk Pro" and "Diablo 2."

In addition to game previews, FirstLook's content also features interviews with game developers and producers, giving gamers a behind-the-scenes look on how games are conceived and produced.

"FirstLook's streaming video-game trailers will provide our users with an entertaining look at new releases and help them make informed purchase decisions," said Brad Greenspan, chairman and CEO, eUniverse. "We strive to offer our users a complete entertainment experience, and we feel Firstlook's cinematic game previews do just that by taking information a step further and making it an interactive journey."

"Our mission is to provide game publishers with a turnkey promotions vehicle and a cost-effective means for our distribution clients to integrate game content that attracts visitors to their sites and drive purchases," said FirstLook Founder and CEO Rand Bleimeister.

FirstLook's new game preview syndication clients will be among the first to utilize the company's flagship content delivery technology -- the FirstLook Client Extranet. Providing the means to remotely access FirstLook's content database, the FirstLook extranet provides all relevant HTML, Java and XML code for easy integration into clients' Web environments.

Today's syndication deals follows on the heals of FirstLook's announcement to syndicate its library of 3.5 million video and audio previews of movies, DVDs, video games, music and TV shows to Microsoft (www.windowsmedia.com), InfoSpace and Tribune Media (NYSE:TRB).
