NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 25, 2001
Targus Inc. today announced the USB Charge-Sync Cable for use with the Palm(TM) V Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). The lightweight and easy-to-carry cable serves the functions of both an USB/Serial cable and AC/DC adapter, eliminating the need for mobile users to carry two bulky devices.
The Targus USB Charge-Sync Cable connects a notebook computer or PC via a standard USB port to a Palm V's serial interface at a data transfer rate of up to 12Mbps. Furthermore, the USB Charge-Sync Cable offers a "one touch" built-in synchronization button and an LED to indicate power, transmit, and receive. The cable charges the Palm V directly from the notebook computer via the USB port. Supporting Palm OS(R) 3.1 and greater, the cable is compatible with Windows(R) 98, ME and 2000.
"The Targus USB Charge-Sync Cable is an elegant, all-in-one cabling solution that allows synchronization of data and simultaneous recharging of your Palm V PDA," said Darren Lee, Targus Sr. Product Manager, PDA Accessories. "It can save the business traveler the frustration of carrying multiple, and sometimes incompatible, syncing devices and power cords. Because the USB Charge-Sync Cable offers an immediate power source from virtually all notebooks, there is no need for Palm V users to worry about carrying the bulky AC adapter."
The Targus USB Charge-Sync Cable for the Palm V, part #PA260U, is priced at $49.99. Available now, the product can be purchased by calling 1.877.4.TARGUS, or from the company's web sites, www.port.com and www.targus.com. The product is also immediately available from www.amazon.com.
