BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 3, 2001
Rachis Corporation became the first partner featured in the Microsoft(R) TV Spotlight, a new feature of the Microsoft TV Web site, www.microsoft.com/TV, that profiles the exciting products, applications, and services that are developed for the Microsoft(R) TV platform. Rachis' InterAct! interactive software agent is the featured product.
Rachis Corp., a leading interactive TV software solutions company, attained the acknowledgment by being one of the first application developers to take advantage of the Microsoft TV development platform. The Rachis InterAct! software solution for set-top boxes streamlines the installation and use of peripheral devices for televisions. With its "No Click"(TM) user interface, Rachis InterAct! brings an unprecedented level of simplicity to set-top box operation by automatically initiating a t-commerce event when a consumer uses a peripheral device. Network operators can now provide consumers with new peripheral subscription services or t-commerce opportunities using Rachis InterAct!
"We are honored to be the first featured in this new Microsoft TV series and pleased to be recognized as a major contributor to the upcoming growth and success of the Microsoft TV platform," said Patrick Sansonetti, vice president of business development, Rachis Corporation. "Microsoft TV is a key component of our strategy for providing complete consulting services and products for interactive TV, specifically, middleware operating system support and client/server network integration."
"The success of Microsoft TV is due in large part to companies like Rachis that take advantage of our open architecture to create added value for our customers," said Ed Graczyk, director of marketing for the Microsoft TV Platform Group. "Rachis Interact! enhances the Microsoft TV platform by helping network operators benefit from the expanded opportunities that come with interactive and enhanced TV.
