PartnerRe Appoints Kurt Angst as Chief Underwriting Officer for its Global Operations Outside the U.S

PartnerRe Ltd. (NYSE: PRE) today announced that Kurt Angst has been appointed Chief Underwriting Officer, Global, effective April 1, 2001.
Mr. Angst is taking over Heinz Vollenweider's role of Chief Underwriting Officer and will oversee all of PartnerRe's underwriting activities conducted outside the United States. Mr. Angst joined PartnerRe at the time of the Winterthur Re acquisition, when he held the position of Chief Underwriting Officer of Winterthur`s Reinsurance operations. Since 1998, Mr. Angst held the position of PartnerRe`s Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer.
PartnerRe Ltd. is a leading global reinsurer, providing multi-line reinsurance to insurance companies. Risks reinsured include property, catastrophe, agriculture, automobile, casualty, marine, aviation/space, credit/surety, technical and miscellaneous lines, life/annuity and health. In 2000 total revenues were $1.5 billion. As of December 31, 2000, total assets were $6.1 billion and total shareholders' equity was $2.1 billion.
