LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 3, 2001

CEOLive.com is now featuring in-depth interviews with Charles Schwab, chief executive officer of Charles Schwab Corp. (NYSE:SCH); Guy Kawasaki, CEO of Garage.com; and Andrew Rosenfeld, CEO of UNext.

During the interviews, Schwab discussed what's wrong with the economy, the Schwab brand, his book "You're 50, Now What?," the purpose of money and what it takes to be a successful executive; Kawasaki discussed the difference between the New Economy and the Old Economy and the current happenings in the VC space; and Rosenfeld discussed the benefits of e-learning, Cardean University and the future of the industry.

In his interview, Schwab discussed his views on what's wrong with the economy. "There are some overexpenditures, some overinvestments that happened last year, and it's been pretty clear that we are in a period of time when those inventories of investments have to be worked off," said Schwab. "We've had this overextension in the technology area, and we're suffering from it right now."

Schwab also discussed the world of technology and what we can expect in the future. "Well, I think certainly by the end of the year 2001, that that will bottom out and then we'll get back to more growth in the technology area," said Schwab. "This is just a little dimple on a long-term improvement in our economy which is driven by technology."
