Symantec Expert to Participate in COMDEX Panel Discussion; Van Geijn to Discuss Security Strategies for Enterprise Networks

Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq:SYMC), a world leader in Internet security technology, today announced that Ronald Van Geijn, director of Product Management at Symantec, will participate in a panel discussion at COMDEX Chicago on Thursday, April 5, 2001. Van Geijn will speak on Security Strategies for Your Enterprise Network during the 1:15 p.m. session of the conference. In this session he will discuss corporate security policies designed to protect enterprise networks against malicious attacks.
"As new technologies and threats emerge, the security challenges for corporations have become increasingly complex," Van Geijn said. "Security is now an ongoing issue that directly affects an organization's ability to conduct business, reinforcing the need to implement enterprise-wide security policies."
As director of Product Management at Symantec, Van Geijn is responsible for product development and innovation for Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) and NetRecon. Prior to joining Symantec, Van Geijn oversaw security for the Netherlands's Ministry of Justice, where he was responsible for the implementation of a 900-user infrastructure.
COMDEX Chicago, which runs April 2-5, is focused on Putting Technology to Work. The conference will offer programs designed to enable participants to make better informed IT business decisions.
