MURRAY HILL, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2001

Dun & Bradstreet (NYSE: DNB) today announced that Steve Alesio, Senior Vice President of The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, will assume responsibility for leading the Company's B2B e-Commerce initiatives effective immediately. Alesio, a member of the Company's leadership team, reporting to Allan Z. Loren, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President, will continue to lead the Company's Marketing and Strategy Implementation functions.

Alesio joined D&B in January 2001 after a 19 year career with American Express where he was most recently President and General Manager of the Business Services group. In this role, he successfully led the development of several business units that became high-growth contributors to that company. Alesio's responsibilities included strategically investing in a number of Web ventures to enable the acquisition and growth of small business transactions via the Web.

"Steve has a broad range of leadership experience in business development, business-to-business marketing and strategic planning, " Loren said. "In his short period of time at D&B, he has leveraged these skills to facilitate our own growth, including the recently announced agreement to acquire iMarket. He is a proven performer, uniquely positioned to enable D&B to become an important player in B2B e-Commerce, a key component of our Blueprint for Growth strategy."

Andre Dahan, Senior Vice President of The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation and current leader of the Company's e-Commerce initiatives, has announced his intention to leave D&B to pursue other interests. Dahan and Alesio will work together over the next few months to transition e-Commerce responsibilities as the Company continues to implement its B2B strategy.
