DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 9, 2001
eDeploy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Datatec Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:DATC), announced today that IBM Canada's Integrated Technologies Services (ITS) division has signed a pilot agreement to utilize eDeploy's Deployment Services Automation software.
eDeploy personnel will provide primary support and training in the start-up of five systems integration projects that will use eDeploy(TM) to coordinate and manage key project elements.
In August 2000, eDeploy and IBM Canada undertook a joint "Proof of Concept" in which the efforts of six different IBM-managed suppliers of IT products and services were coordinated to deliver integration services to Ford Canada's dealer network. Utilizing eDeploy's Application Server Provider (ASP) hosting services, the proof-of-concept project was initiated in less than 15 days. Within 60 days of project startup, the value of eDeploy was documented in terms of both productivity improvement and customer satisfaction. Based upon these findings, IBM Canada's Project Management Office decided to proceed to this next stage.
Commenting on the decision to embark on these pilot programs, Jill Harris, Solutions Manager IBM Global Services, stated, "Our customers want to know at all times exactly how their projects are progressing. eDeploy provides us with 7/24 access to key project status information. This increased project control reduces errors, accelerates timeframes and contributes to higher customer satisfaction."
"We are pleased with IBM's commitment to give us a supply chain that appears as a seamless end-to-end system," said Fordstar Information Technology Manager Peter Stoddart. "We are a very happy customer."
Don Bergal, eDeploy Chief Operating Officer stated, "We fully expect that these pilot projects will further validate the concrete benefits that eDeploy can deliver to our OEM clients and their customers, and we are extremely proud of the confidence that IBM Canada has demonstrated in our team."
