SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 1, 2001
NetIQ Corporation (Nasdaq:NTIQ), a leading provider of e-business infrastructure management and intelligence solutions, today announced the NetIQ Migration Suite, a bundling of the five NetIQ migration products that provides the industry's most complete solution for accelerating the transition to Windows 2000/Active Directory and Exchange 2000. The suite incorporates pre-deployment assessment, as well as tools for consolidating and automating complex migration tasks -- all designed to minimize the impact on valuable IT resources. In addition, NetIQ today released updated versions of its Exchange Migrator and NetIQ NetWare Migrator products.
"The new suite is based on customer demand for a more comprehensive and interoperable solution covering the entire Windows 2000 and Exchange 2000 migration spectrum," said Rick Pleczko, senior vice president of marketing at NetIQ. "We believe its broad functionality and compelling price point are unparalleled in comparison to offerings from any of our competitors."
The NetIQ Migration Suite can facilitate the move from Windows NT 4, Exchange 5.5 or Novell NetWare. It encompasses the following products:
-- Migration Assessor -- for environment assessment and reporting throughout Windows 2000 migration. -- Domain Migration Administrator -- for accelerating domain consolidation and migration from Windows NT 4 to Windows 2000. -- Server Consolidator -- for simplifying file and printer server consolidation, facilitating easier hardware replacements and upgrades. -- Exchange Migrator -- for seamlessly moving Exchange objects from one Exchange organization or site to another (from 5.5 to 5.5 and from 5.5 to 2000). Version 1.1, available today, adds incremental migration support and reconciles old/new mail addresses of corporate users. -- NetWare Migrator -- for speeding migration from Novell NetWare to Windows NT 4 or Windows 2000 environments. Version 6.4, now available, provides single-console NT/2000 support and improved performance.
Customers and Partners Adopt NetIQ Migration Solutions
NetIQ attributes the popularity of its migration software to ease of installation and use, as well as features that cut time requirements, minimize errors and reduce risks, enabling a quick return on investment (ROI).
"We're using NetIQ's Domain Migration Administrator (DMA) to migrate more than 150 locations in the U.S. and internationally," said Mark Vernon, senior network engineer of Pioneer Hi-Bred. "This is a large-scale conversion with more than 6,000 users from 18 NT domains being moved to a single Active Directory domain. DMA is enabling us to accomplish this much more quickly and easily than with native Windows tools alone."
The NetIQ Migration Suite also has proven itself a time- and money-saver for Getronics.
"As more companies begin moving to Windows 2000 and Exchange 2000, there's a growing need for a complete, end-to-end product suite that a system integrator can use to assess, consolidate, automate and manage tasks at multiple points along the migration path," said Chet Webster, director of e-solutions infrastructure for Getronics. "We've used the complete suite of NetIQ products and have found that they offer substantial benefits at every step of our clients' migration efforts."
