DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 2001
i2 Technologies, Inc., (Nasdaq:ITWO) the leading provider of dynamic value chain solutions, today announced that Compaq Computer Corporation, a leading global provider of enterprise technology and solutions, went live with core component and supplier management functionality within the i2 Supplier Relationship Management(TM) (SRM) Solution running on the Compaq ProLiant(TM) 6500 Platform.
Compaq will use i2's design collaboration solution to manage its Approved Vendor List (AVL), which serves as the corporate master for new supplier registration. The Web-based solution will be used by engineering and procurement functions to promote the use of preferred parts and collaborative change management for component and supplier data across the extended enterprise.
"For most manufacturers, the cost of incoming parts and supplies represents 75 percent of the cost of most products and nearly 50 percent of a manufacturer's revenues," said Dave Horne, i2 senior vice president, SRM. "i2 SRM initiatives are designed to reduce the cost of goods sold by a considerable amount. This has a significant impact on profit margins, and ultimately, earnings per share. We're looking forward to working with Compaq to help them achieve their procurement, profit and e-business objectives."
